Sump Pumps Case Studies: Dry Well Installation and Servicing in Medford New Jersey
This property in Medford, New Jersey, had a clogged LawnScape which backed up the crawl space's sump pump. This sediment building up in the discharge line had been a reoccurring issue for the homeowner that he decided to live with but had worsened with the lack of maintenance to the sump pump system. With the lack of proper sump pump care, the sump ran constantly and was at risk of burning out. Heavy rainstorms posed a serious problem if the discharge line could be corrected.
When our service technician Bryan arrived at the property, he observed the puddle that had formed on the lawn of the property. The sump pump was not capable of discharging the water in the line and had been sitting at the rim of the LawnScape Outlet. Bryan began to dig out a hole around the outlet to install a dry well and perform a modification to the line to allow water to pass through freely. Once done, the line was then unclogged and the stagnant water then was able to flow freely. Bryan completed the dry well and continued the maintenance to the sump pump system inside the home. The homeowner is very pleased that the sump no longer runs throughout the day and feels safe knowing that their system is prepared for and a storm that heads their way!

Here is a better look at the LawnScape, with the surrounding dirt removed.
Once the LawnScape Outlet was removed, the line was cleared, allowing the water to flow freely.
Holes were drilled into the sides of the outlet to provide a better flow and reduce the risk of clogging.
Stones were place into the pit to displace the water back into the ground.
The sod is now replaced over the newly installed dry well!
