Hedy W. was worried about the consequences of the humidity in her basement. Because of it, mold growth was a very real concern. She had heard of Dry Guys and their extensive knowledge of mold and how to stop it. When she called them for help, Dry Guys owner Dan Gattuso promptly responded.
Our Team was quickly able to determine that no mold had grown in the basement, but if they didn't get the humidity under control, it definitely would become a problem later on. The simple fix was a SaniDry Air Purification System. It filters the humidity from the air, removing the conditions mold needs to grow.
With the SaniDry working in top shape thanks to yearly maintenance, Hedy can forget about her basement and her fears have been put to rest. Mold is dangerous and can cause many serious health issues, but those are no longer concerns for her and her family.
Michael H. has a property on the shoreline that he rents out. Aside from his desire to encapsulate the crawl space, the flood vents were old and no longer opened and closed properly, leaving it vulnerable to water pressure during floods. Concerned about the foundation issues this would eventually cause, he decided to call Dry Guys.
Owner Dan Gattuso helped him find a system that met his needs. First, the vents were addressed. The old ones were removed and in their place SmartVents were installed. These vents are insulated and open to equalize the water pressure, freeing the foundation from harm. For encapsulation, our CleanSpace liner was used to seal the crawl space to make it look neat and tidy, as well as keep moisture out. A SuperSump sump pump was also added to keep water from pooling in the crawl space when it floods.
Thanks to our patented, unique systems, Michael H. is very happy with his property's crawl space. He can rest easy during floods and heavy rains, knowing that he won't have to make the long drive down to the property to check it for water damage because Dry Guys has his back!
Nancy and Joe G. began to worry when they noticed water entering their basement. As conditions worsened, mold started to grow, and soon the couple had the added problem of a smelly, unhealthy environment. They promptly called the experts in basement waterproofing and mold removal- Dry Guys.
System Designer Ian Gattuso inspected their basement and designed a comprehensive plan. The first step was to remove the mold, and with our in house IRCRC certified mold experts, that was a simple task to address. Many people simply paint over mold or find other ways to hide it, but that doesn't actually fix the problem. It always comes back if conditions don’t change. The Dry Guys Team safely and efficiently removed the mold using the latest and safest approved methods available.
Step two was to address the water entering through the basement walls since conditions were still ripe for mold to re-grow in the future. Ian proposed the installation of our ThermalDry Wall Vapor Barrier, which is not only waterproof but reflects heat back into the basement which is ideal if you plan to finish your basement walls. Step three was to install the patented WaterGuard perimeter system. This was used for water seepage at the floor/wall joint. Now all water is directed straight to the SuperSump pump. Step four was to install our SaniDry basement air system. With their basement properly waterproofed and humidity levels so low it is impossible for mold to grow, Nancy and Joe have now moved on to finish their basement. Now they are worry-free since mold no longer poses any threat to the health of their family. Thanks, Dry Guys!
Rick L. noticed a vertical crack in his foundation wall. Alarmed by this, he began the search for a solution to the problem. Dry Guys has the best-patented solutions around for foundation problems just like this one, and Rick immediately called us for help.
Our certified foundation repair specialist, Elliot Gattuso, took a look at the problem. He reassured Rick when he let him know that this was, in fact, a simple thing to fix. Wall cracks, when left alone, will eventually create very serious foundation issues and can even lead to your foundation collapsing. They can, however, be stopped pretty easily early on thanks to our Carbon Armor strap. This strap is made of very powerful fibers and uses the same technology that supports bridges and skyscrapers! Once applied to your wall crack, it holds the foundation in place and stabilizes it. Its application is fast and easy as well.
Rick was happy with the solution and with Elliot, and with the CarbonArmor holding his wall in place, he no longer worries about a possible foundation collapse in the future, or about water entering through the crack.
Alicia H. was worried about her foundation. A joist under the front porch had broken, and now the front basement wall was beginning to collapse. As she scoured the internet for a solution, she found Dry Guys.
When she called us, our foundation repair specialist Elliot Gattuso came to her home to see how we could fix the problem. The solution was to install our PowerBrace wall straightening system. Power Braces are steel i-beams that hold the wall in place and could even be tightened over time to eventually return the wall to its original position. They are rust-resistant and require no outside excavation.
Thanks to our patented PowerBrace system, Alicia's foundation did not collapse- saving her from a much more costly repair in the future. If you too have foundation issues in your home, don't hesitate to call us today before the problem worsens!
Marie noticed how her basement walls had begun to slowly bow in and she was worried about the foundation of the house. She saw how the foundation walls could potentially collapse and that would cost her too much afterward. So Marie called Dry Guys to come out to help fix the foundation.
Dry Guys explained that when the walls of your basement start to bow inwards, it can be caused by the soil around the basement walls becoming full of water, which puts more stress on the walls. They went to work and decided that the best course of action would be to put up PowerBraces to help stabilize the walls and over time they can be tightened to make bowing walls straighter. Thanks to this, Marie was able to understand that her walls would not be bowing anymore and that the foundation of the walls would be safe.
A homeowner in Glenolden, PA, saw how the wood in her crawl space frame had some mold and was worried about the support of her house. She called Dry Guys to have them check out her crawl space.
Dry Guys explained that even though some of the wood may be damaged by the mold, it is not necessary to change the wood. So instead, crawl space jack posts were used to help support the wood frame and with time it would be used to help restore the original level position. For these mold situations, we also recommend installing our SaniDry dehumidifier because it has a powerful blowing motor that circulates dry air to make sure mold won't grow again. Installing this also comes with the benefit of getting rid of musty odors and filters the air. The homeowner was satisfied with the result and was happy they decided to call Dry Guys to help them.
A homeowner in Ridley, PA noticed how insects and rodents were entering his crawl space through the vents. He decided to call Dry Guys to see if the vents were helpful.
Dry Guys explained that open vents in a crawl space aren't often necessary because the air is either too humid or cold which ends up doing more harm than good. We recommended sealing the vents to keep the outside air as well as small animals and bugs from getting in. Thanks to this course of action, the homeowner is happy with how their crawl space is sealed and critter-free.
