This basement in Elmer, NJ, was having problems with water coming in through the foundation since the ground began to settle which caused a pipe, that was running through the ground to the wall, to drop a quarter of an inch and form a gap in the cinderblock wall and around the pipe entry. The building itself had an electrical panel that is in charge of sending power throughout their building and all the branches of the bank itself. The water that was able to get inside the pipe saturated the wood panel and weakened the wall, this could not only compromise the electrical units of the building but also cause communication problems with all of the other branches too.
When Dry Guys arrived to help fix the problems, drainage matting, Z Channel, and a two-part epoxy were used to solve the issue. Behind the Cleanspace Wall that was installed, the drainage matting was placed to allow the water to drain down into our waterproofing system. Since waterproofing was done before on the wall, a product called Z Channel was needed to retrofit the Cleanspace Wall product into the WaterGuard system for drainage. A pipe penetration fix was done to make sure the Epoxy sticks to the cinderblock wall and to the pipe itself. The two-part epoxy will "follow" any leakage points to make sure water can not come through the cinderblock wall again. With all of these products and other products working together, no water will ever come in again.
(The before picture shows how much water had been absorbed into the plywood. The wall can also be seen with water. The after picture shows the Cleanspace that was used, and behind it is the drainage matting that is mention throughout the description.)
The owner of this basement had previously DryGuys come to install a Sump Pump to their basement. Now they wanted to finish their basement, so they once again called DryGuys to come back out to install the ZenWall™ to finish their basement. ZenWall™ has the property to create a heat-reflective vapor barrier and insulation on the walls.
