Dry Guys Earns Best Home Improvement Contractor Award
The counting of votes in the 2013 Best of Salem County contest has been completed to determine what businesses that Salem County residents feel are our area’s best.
More than 2,000 ballots were cast in the contest where customers picked top businesses in 100 different categories from food to professional services.
The contest, designed to recognize the area’s small businesses, is sponsored each year by the Salem County Chamber of Commerce, the South Jersey Times and the County of Salem.
Jennifer Jones, executive director of the Salem County Chamber of Commerce, said one of the contest’s main goals is to highlight successful small businesses in the county.
“It’s a great opportunity for businesses to be recognized because their owners and employees work very, very hard,” Jones said.
Jones said it is important to support local businesses in Salem County because they employee local residents and support their community.
“The South Jersey Times wants to congratulate all the winners,” said Ceil Smith, advertising director and publisher of the Times’ south edition.
Winners will be recognized at a special banquet at the Centerton Country Club in Pittsgrove Township on Thursday, Oct. 24, beginning at 5:30 p.m. New Jersey Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno will be the keynote speaker at the event.
The event last year drew nearly 400 guests.
Tickets to the banquet are $45 and can be purchased by calling the chamber at 1-800-638-7048.
